📘 Internship/Dissertation Programme
ICMR - NIRT is a permanent institute under ICMR, recognized for TB and comorbidity research.
It is equipped with advanced research infrastructure and designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre.
The institute hosts the International Centre for Excellence in Research (ICER) in collaboration with NIH.
Applications are invited from students with strong academic backgrounds for internships or dissertation projects.

Eligibility
BS / MD / MPH students, final-year B.Sc. students (Statistics, Sociology, Psychology, Visual Communication), M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biostatistics, MSW / MA in Social Work, Anthropology, Economics, MBA in HR, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, B.Tech / M.Tech in Biotech, Biomedical, CS, or IT.
Duration
Dissertation programmes are a minimum of 6 months. Internships or observation visits are typically 15 days in duration.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted through the ICMR-NIRT website. The portal opens on the 15th of January, April, July, and October for a period of 7 days. Applications are accepted only for the current or upcoming quarter.
Selection Process
Selection is based on the quality of application and supervisor availability. The Director’s decision will be final. Selected candidates must report to the respective Department Heads upon confirmation.

General Guidelines
Only complete applications will be considered. A requisition letter with photograph signed by the Head of Institution is mandatory. A concept paper is required for dissertation submissions.
Selected students must follow institutional rules and will work under assigned supervisors. Fee payment is required upon joining. A certificate of completion will be issued post-training. Dissertation students must submit a copy of their final thesis.
Confidentiality of data must be maintained at all times. No institutional staff privileges will be granted. Travel and accommodation must be arranged by the applicants. No employment will be offered. The institute is not liable for any accidents or medical expenses incurred.

Online Application Requirements
Applicants must upload a passport-size photograph and signature in image format. Additional documents including the requisition letter, resume, and concept paper must be submitted in PDF format with a maximum file size of 1 MB.
