50th International Women’s Day Celebrations
The 50th International Women's Day was commemorated at ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis on March 17-18, 2025. The celebrations focused on the UN theme "All women and girls - Rights. Equality. Empowerment."
To raise awareness and promote the theme, various competitions were organized among staff members, including elocution, quiz programs, and poster displays. On March 18, we had organised a guest lecture by Mrs. A.S. Kumari, Chairperson, State Commission for Women, Tamil Nadu. She emphasized women's rights, precautionary measures for women's safety, and the responsibilities of men in promoting equality.
Mrs. Kumari also honored the prize winners of various competitions held during the Women's Day celebrations at the institute. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks.
The successful celebration was organized by the Women's Day Celebration Committee, comprising of Dr. N. Saravanan (Scientist 'E' & Chairperson), Dr. P. Murugesan, Ms. R. Vetrichselvi, Ms. K. Silambuchelvi, (Senior Technical Officers) and Dr. B. Senthil Kumar, TO-C (Member Secretary).
