5th Community Advisory Board (CAB) Meeting -2025
The Community Advisory Board (CAB) meeting of ICMR-NIRT was held on October 13, 2025, at ICMR-NIRT, Chennai. The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the Member Secretary of CAB, followed by a brief round of introductions by the CAB members, presided over by Dr. Karthikeyan, Chairperson of CAB.
The Principal Investigators of various research projects with community components presented their studies and received critical input from the CAB members. Dr. Srinath Satyanarayana, Director of ICMR-NIRT, presented introductory remarks and deliberated on the TB-free Delhi initiative study, highlighting the institute's efforts towards tuberculosis control.
The post-lunch session included updates on institutional community engagement activities, focusing on Nikshay Mitra and Wings of Support initiatives. The Nikshay Mitra session was attended by representatives from various CSR organizations and stakeholders, who expressed their support and willingness to contribute to ICMR-NIRT's Nikshay Mitra activities for the benefit of persons with tuberculosis.
The CAB members acknowledged the importance of the studies presented during the meeting. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the contributions and participation of all attendees.
