Accessibility Audit for Inclusive Environment at ICMR-NIRT
An accessibility audit for Persons with Special Abilities was conducted at the ICMR-NIRT campus on 06.02.2026 with participation from TN-Rights and Dorcas Research Centre for Education, Art and Culture. The audit was carried out by a multidisciplinary team comprising persons with special abilities, engineers, and members of the Committee for Persons with Special Abilities at ICMR-NIRT.
The audit covered all buildings and departments, and accessibility gaps were meticulously identified and documented. Recommendations for improving the physical accessibility of the campus were obtained from the audit team members.
Dr. Karikalan, Chairperson, and Mrs. Angayarkanni, Member Secretary of the Committee, coordinated the audit process.
