Awareness program on tuberculosis and lung health at MFL


As a part of the 100 Days Intensified TB Elimination Campaign and as a lead-up to the upcoming World TB Day 2025, the Dept. of Social and Behavioural Research (DSBR) of ICMR-NIRT organized an awareness program on tuberculosis and lung health at Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL), Manali, on February 14, 2025. The program aimed to educate MFL employees about the prevention and early detection of tuberculosis, emphasizing the importance of lung health. The event featured a presentation, interactive discussions, quizzes, and engaging activities to raise awareness and promote healthier lifestyle choices.

The event was inaugurated by Shri. Manoj Kumar Jain, Chairman, MFL, and Dr. Kallel Rahman, Chief Medical Officer, MFL. Dr. Karikalan, Head, DSBR, ICMR-NIRT and Dr. Murugesan, STO, ICMR-NIRT coordinated the event. Students from the School of Public Health, SRMIST, actively participated and contributed to the activity. The program concluded with a pledge to eliminate TB, reaffirming the ongoing efforts to combat tuberculosis and enhance respiratory health.
