"Beyond the Horizon" Flow Cytometry Workshop
The Department of Immunology, ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (NIRT), in collaboration with BD Biosciences, conducted a 2-day flow cytometry workshop titled "Beyond the Horizon" on 2nd and 3rd September, 2025. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Srinath Satyanarayana, Director of ICMR-NIRT, in the presence of dignitaries from ICMR-NIRT and BD Biosciences. The workshop focused on theoretical sessions covering topics such as fluorochrome impact on panel design, spectral plus imaging flow cytometry, and high parameter multi-color flow cytometry panel design.
The workshop included hands-on sessions for both beginners and experienced flow users, with acquisition carried out on the recently procured BD FACS Symphony A5 SE Cell analyzer through an ICMR grant. The workshop attracted participants from various departments within ICMR-NIRT and external institutions in and around Chennai, including IIT Madras and Christian Medical College-Vellore. This collaborative effort provided a platform for researchers to enhance their skills in high parameter flow cytometry panel design, fostering innovation and excellence in research.
