Felicitation of cleaning/sanitation staff
As part of Swachhata Abhiyan's Special Campaign 3.0, a felicitation program for the cleaning/sanitation staff was organized by ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis on 20.10.2023. The event happened to be a very interactive and cheerful one for the staff, where, Dr. Padmapriyadarsini (Director, ICMR-NIRT) and Mrs. Chithra Sivakumar and Mrs. Latha, Administrative Officers made themselves available to encourage them. During Director's address, she emphasized the fact that the sanitary staff make the campus safe for others to work. A musical chair competition was organized in order to cheer the staff. Followed by this, there was a re-iteration talk on precautions and good cleaning practices to be followed by them. An 'on-the-spot' elocution competition was conducted on the topic 'Importance of Women education' and the cleaning staff enthusiastically participated. They were also encouraged to show case their talents by singing and reciting poems. The theme "Plastic-free India' was emphasized by providing them handmade jute bag kit. The Director presented gifts to winners of competitions and the event ended successfully with vote of thanks by Dr. Bella Devaleenal, Chairperson, Hygiene Committee, ICMR- NIRT. The members of Hygiene Committee, ICMR- NIRT: Dr. Nancy Hilda J (Member Secretary), Mrs. Suganthi, Dr. Ramakrishnan, Mrs. Mangalambal, Mr. Poongavanam, Mrs. Dhanalakshmi, Mrs. Mythili, and Mr. Khaleel were instrumental in making this event a grand success.
