ICMR SHINE (Science & Health Innovation for the NextGen Explorers) initiative @ ICMR-NIRT

ICMR-NIRT hosted the SHINE (Science & Health Innovation for the NextGen Explorers) program on August 8, 2025, bringing together around 450 students from Classes 9 to 12. Students from Don Bosco School of Excellence, MCC Public School, Presidency Girls' Higher Secondary School, and Chennai High School took part in this exciting nationwide outreach initiative.

The day was filled with hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and engaging displays on tuberculosis (TB) research and its latest breakthroughs.

Organized as part of the Prime Minister's “One Day as a Scientist” initiative and in honor of the birth anniversary of Prof. V. Ramalingaswami, the program aimed to spark curiosity, inspire discovery, and open young minds to the world of science and health research.

Through SHINE, students got a glimpse into cutting-edge TB research and biomedical innovation, while also experiencing the excitement of being in a scientific environment. The event was all about encouraging the next generation of explorers to dream big, ask questions, and imagine themselves as future scientists.
