Inauguration of Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRU) Madurai
The Model Rural Health Research Unit (MRHRU), Madurai, was officially launched on Friday, 25th October 2024, at the MEU Hall, Madurai Medical College. during the first Local Research Advisory Committee (LRAC) meeting. The session featured a welcome address by Dr. Manoj Murhekar, Director, ICMR-NIRT, and opening remarks by the Dean, Madurai Medical College. The Director of Public Health, Tamil Nadu, delivered the inaugural address, with a special address by Dr. Shantaraman, Additional Director of Medical Education, Tamil Nadu.Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Scientist ΒF' and Nodal Officer for MRHRU, presented updates on the unit. Dr. Prem Mony, Chairperson of Local Research Advisory Committee (LRAC), discussed future directions. The event was attended by Dr. Senthil. Prof. of Medicine, Nodal Officer, Madurai Medical College and various distinguished guests from Madurai Medical College, State Health Department and representatives from ICMR-NIRT.
