Meta-analysis Workshop
"The ICMR–NIRT Technical Resource Centre (TRC) conducted a one-day Hands-on Workshop on Meta-analysis for Intervention Reviews on 4th July 2025 at the ICMR-NIRT campus. Aimed at researchers and professionals with prior knowledge of systematic reviews, the workshop provided practical training in advanced meta-analytic techniques. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Srinath Satyanarayana , Director, ICMR-NIRT, who encouraged participants to take up systematic review projects.
Led by Mr. Richard Kirubakaran , Director of CBEBM, Vellore, the sessions covered data extraction, fixed vs. random-effects models, interpretation of forest and funnel plots, and analysis of heterogeneity. Participants engaged in live demonstrations and completed a meta-analysis project using RevMan software. The workshop benefited 25 participants from academic and research institutions and reinforced ICMR-NIRT's ongoing commitment to capacity building in evidence-based public health research."
