MRHRU Madurai – Population-Based Health Survey Initiated
The Population-Based Health Survey at MRHRU Madurai was officially launched on5th June 2025in a meeting held at Madurai. Dr. Selvavinayagam, Director of Public Health, Tamil Nadu, inaugurated the survey. Director, ICMR-NIRT, Dr. Somasundaram, Additional Director of Public Health TN, attended online and other DPH Officials, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Scientist F & Nodal Officer of MRHRU Madurai, other NIRT staffs, Investigators from Madurai Medical College and the MRHRU Madurai project staff were present. The survey, approved by the Local Research Advisory Committee, is part of a national protocol across all MRHRUs. Following the meeting, field activities began on9th June 2025, with survey data collection and blood testing completed for 13 individuals on the first day.
