National Pharmacovigilance Week Celebrations 2024
ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (NIRT), as an Adverse Drug Monitoring Centre (AMC), celebrated National Pharmacovigilance Week 2024 (18-23 September) by organizing essay and poster competitions, and sensitization activities on "Pharmacovigilance in TB" for students of Nursing Colleges [a)College of Nursing of Madras Medical College, Chennai & b) Madurai Medical College, c) Sacred Heart Nursing College, Madurai, and d) College of Nursing, Govt. Vellore Medical College] and Pharmacy College [KM College of Pharmacy, Madurai] from 18 th to 23 nd September 2024. Aligned with Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission's (IPC) theme for this year, "Building ADR Reporting Culture for Patient Safety", these events aimed to educate and promote adverse drug reaction reporting. The events were led by Dr Ramesh Kumar (Scientist F), Dr Syed Hissar (Scientist E), and Dr. Newtonraj (Scientist E) along with their teams in Madurai, Chennai and Vellore respectively. All participants were given certificates and winners were awarded prizes.
