Orientation Programme on HTA
The National Institute of Siddha (NIS), Tambaram, under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in collaboration with the Regional Resource Hub for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in India at ICMR-NIRT, successfully conducted an Orientation Programme on HTA on 17th July 2025 at NIS, Tambaram.
The event was graced by Prof. Dr. G. Senthilvel, Director, NIS. Around 150 attendees, including Ph.D. scholars, postgraduate students, and staff of NIS, participated in the programme. The attendees gained valuable insights into HTA and its role in strengthening healthcare delivery through Siddha and allied systems.
The programme emphasized the significance of HTA in promoting evidence-based planning and efficient resource allocation within the healthcare system. Dr. M. Muniyandi and Dr. N. Karikalan presented an overview of the HTA framework in India, highlighting its relevance in policymaking and health programme evaluation.
Researchers and academicians from NIS actively engaged in discussions, exploring the application of HTA in various Siddha interventions. This interaction laid the groundwork for advancing HTA research and supporting evidence-based health policy development in traditional systems.
