Swachhata Hi Seva - Garbage free India
As part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2023, around 40 staff of ICMR-NIRT voluntarily participated in the cleanliness drive conducted at the play ground located in Mayor Ramanathan Road from 10.00AM to 11.00AM on 1st October 2023 . The volunteers assembled at the site around 9.50AM and segregated zones among themselves for effective cleaning. Different types of garbage including papers, decayed wood, plastic covers were segregated as biodegradable and non-degradable and disposed accordingly. The volunteers actively and cheerfully cleaned the playground. On completion of the cleaning activity, bleaching powder was sprayed in designated areas. This activity was conducted with support from the Greater Chennai Corporation.
