TB Screening Camp at Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited, Chennai
ICMR-NIRT, in collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) - Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), organized a Tuberculosis screening camp for employees and contractual workers of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) in Manali on March 4, 2025.The camp provided comprehensive services, including sputum tests, X-rays, and blood sugar tests, benefiting 121 CPCL employees. The medical team comprised doctors, X-ray technicians, paramedical staff, social workers, and technical staff from ICMR-NIRT and NTEP-GCC.The event was inaugurated by Mr. Rokith Kumar, Director of Finance, CPCL, in the presence of Dr. Syed, Chief Medical Officer, and Dr. R. Vijay Anand, Chief Manager, HR-OHS & First Aid. The camp was jointly coordinated by Dr. Karikalan, N, Head-DSBR, and Dr. S. Sriram, Head-Epidemiology, Mrs. Chandra Suresh PTO, Dr. P. Murugesan STO, Mr. Senthil.S, STO, and Mr. Y. John Arokiya Doss, TO-B, ICMR-NIRT along with Dr. Gayathri Devi, MO, GCC and their respective teams from ICMR-NIRT and NTEP-GCC.The event aimed to promote TB awareness among the participants and contribute to the national efforts to eliminate tuberculosis.
