Personal Statement
We are currently involved in research on how anti-tuberculosis (anti-TB) drugs are processed in the body (pharmacokinetics) and how their levels can be monitored during treatment, by using and/or developing novel HPLC and LC-MS/MS methods. Our work also includes testing anti-TB drugs in pharmaceutical formulations. In addition, we study how host and dietary factors can affect drug levels, treatment response, and overall outcomes in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.
Research Focus
β’ Pharmacokinetics
β’ Anti-TB drug metabolism
β’ Drug-Drug Interaction
β’ Nutrition and Drug metabolism
Ongoing projects as Principal investigator
β’ Bioavailability of first-line anti-TB drugs among patients receiving fixed-dose combination (FDC) tablets
β’ Pharmacokinetics of linezolid in MDR-TB patients
