Personal Statement

We are currently involved in research on how anti-tuberculosis (anti-TB) drugs are processed in the body (pharmacokinetics) and how their levels can be monitored during treatment, by using and/or developing novel HPLC and LC-MS/MS methods. Our work also includes testing anti-TB drugs in pharmaceutical formulations. In addition, we study how host and dietary factors can affect drug levels, treatment response, and overall outcomes in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.

Research Focus

    β€’ Pharmacokinetics

    β€’ Anti-TB drug metabolism

    β€’ Drug-Drug Interaction

    β€’ Nutrition and Drug metabolism

Ongoing projects as Principal investigator

β€’ Bioavailability of first-line anti-TB drugs among patients receiving fixed-dose combination (FDC) tablets
β€’ Pharmacokinetics of linezolid in MDR-TB patients
